Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Galero handles your information. The short version: Galero collects nothing about you. There is no account, no tracking, and no data sent to us — everything you do in the app stays on your device.
Who we are
Galero is an art-history game made by the Galero team. For the purposes of data-protection laws such as the EU's GDPR, the developer of Galero is the "data controller" — though, as explained below, Galero collects no personal data. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at santifg92@gmail.com.
What we don't collect
Galero has no account or login and builds no personal profile of you. Your gameplay, statistics, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). Aside from Apple's purchase handling (described under "Purchases" below), the app makes no network requests of its own and includes no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. Because nothing leaves your device, there is nothing for us to see, store, or share.
Data security
Whatever Galero saves — your stats, settings, and progress — is kept in the app's protected storage on your own device, secured by iOS and your device passcode or biometrics. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side copy of your data to protect or to breach.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the one-time founder lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes your payment; we never see or store your payment details. Your purchase status is verified on your device by Apple's system.
Advertising
Galero currently shows no ads and contains no advertising software. If advertising is ever added in a future version, this policy will be updated to disclose the advertising provider and any identifiers it uses, before that version ships.
Analytics & diagnostics
We use no third-party analytics or diagnostics. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregate App Store metrics (such as download counts) that cannot identify you; we do not control how Apple collects these and we do not combine them with anything else.
Third parties
The only third party involved is Apple, which processes purchases and distributes the app. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The artworks in Galero are public-domain reproductions sourced from Wikimedia Commons; no information about you is shared with them. Galero also includes attribution links to each artwork's source on Wikimedia Commons — if you tap one, it opens in your browser, and that site has its own privacy practices that we don't control.
Children
Galero is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — because the app collects no personal information at all.
Your rights & choices
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings ▸ your Apple ID ▸ Subscriptions. Because everything is stored on your device, deleting Galero removes all of its data — your stats, settings, and saved progress — from your phone. Under regulations such as the EU's GDPR and California's CCPA you have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you; in Galero's case there is effectively nothing to act on, because no personal data ever leaves your device or reaches us. We do not sell or share your personal information — we don't collect any. Galero does not profile you or make any automated decisions about you. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority, though we hope you'll reach out to us first. If you have questions, email santifg92@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this address.
